      DirectionExplorer does not collect, store or transmit any personal data.

      All data stays on your device. No account is required. No analytics or tracking of any kind is used.

Data stored on your device

DirectionExplorer stores the following data exclusively on your device:

Custom pins you place on the map (coordinates, labels, colours)
Mountain peaks you selected and saved to the map
App preferences and settings (units, map type, distance, altitude filters)

This data is never transmitted to any server and is not accessible to the developer.

Network activity

DirectionExplorer does not connect to the internet. All features — map overlay, direction line, mountain database, line-of-sight check — work entirely offline.

Map tiles are provided by Apple Maps (MapKit) and follow Apple's Privacy Policy.

Location

Location access is used exclusively to position the direction line origin on the map and to calculate distances and bearings. Your coordinates are never transmitted outside the app.

You can use the app with a manually set origin point without granting location permission.

Used to set your current position as the origin of the direction line. Optional — you can tap the map to set a manual origin instead.

Third-party SDKs and analytics

DirectionExplorer does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, crash reporting or tracking SDK. No data is shared with any third party.

Children's privacy

DirectionExplorer does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be published at this URL. The date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent update.
